Small Businesses Dial In Digital Marketing With Personalised Ads

A Facebook survey of over 2,270 small businesses across 15 countries highlights the importance of personalized ads for cost-effective customer targeting, especially for resource-constrained small businesses. The case of Kings Barbers Club in the UK exemplifies this: founder Adam Choudhry grew the business from one barbershop to 14 locations using Facebook Ads Manager to target specific demographics and services. During the pandemic, he leveraged Facebook Pixel for data-driven insights, achieving 250,000 video views in 48 hours.

The study shows that in the UK, 73% of businesses value reaching the right audience, and 64% consider cost important. In Spain, 70% said restrictions on personalized ads would slow growth, while in Italy and Austria, 47% and 54% respectively said restrictions would increase marketing costs. Overall, personalized ads have become a vital and permanent pillar for small business growth strategies.
